Whenever the topic of traveling internationally with kids comes up, parents ask about vaccines. People believe that vaccines are required for traveling internationally, but for the most part that just isn’t true. They may be recommended, but they are not broadly required* There is so much misunderstanding about vaccines & inoculations across the board, much of it based in fear mongering and lack of education. That’s why I’m happy to announce the upcoming The Truth About Vaccines.
Everette and I still have kids living at home with us (our youngest is now 10yo) plus we’ve got grandkids. Having nearly lost our son Mitchell at 4 months to whooping cough, this topic is still very near and dear to my heart.
The Truth About Vaccines is a superb place to get educated. It’s a free online series with 7 episodes in 7 days. It’s starting Aug 17, 2017 and hosted by Ty Bollinger with 60 top health experts. You can hear both sides of the debate and make an informed decision about the controversial issue of vaccinations.
Some of our kids are vaccinated; some aren’t. Many people think that families like ours who tend not to vaccinate are actually anti-vaccinating. But that simply isn’t the truth.
We aren’t anti-vaccines. We also aren’t pro-vaccine.
Rather we are pro-education. We believe in furthering our education on the topic and making decisions for the individual members of our family in particular situations.
What I love about The Truth About Vaccines is that nobody is trying to coerce anybody. Its about education. About gaining knowledge. About making intelligent decisions. For many of us it may include eliminating some vaccines, postponing them, or only getting a particular inoculation for a specific reason.
We trust that our kids will grow up knowing that they are not only free but also personally responsible to choose for themselves as adults (and their future family’s) what they do with the information.
Don’t just do what you were raised with.
Don’t do what your doctor or your friends say you need to do.
Do what you understand to be the very best for your family members in their situation.
