A divinely-inspired ship has invaded our lives: on wheels instead of the wind. We’ve just moved ourselves off of the water and the kids want to name our new on-land rig “Argo”? A little mixed up, I figured. But hey, since there’s still more kids than parents, they win!! Our Argo it is.
The kids chose the name Argo after the first ship ever to sail, said to have been built by Argus with the aid of the goddess Athena. It carried Jason and his crew, the Argonauts, from Thessaly to Colchis and back again on their quest for the Golden Fleece. The fleece was a symbol of authority and kingship. (hmmm…Who’s got the authority & kingship in our household?)
Anyways, its now two weeks since we sold S/V San Mateo, brought Our Argo* home and started ripping her apart and putting her back together again! This is our very first bus conversion, and right or wrong we’re doing it!
We ripped right into her the first hours she was ‘home’, because….well, go see for yourself.
If you’re curious about our bus conversion you can see occasional updates on our Instagram. Or come back here each Sunday for a weekly update. Watch Our Argo go from school bus to official skoolie!
*Google says there’s other buses out there called Argo. But nobody has Our Argo 🙂
