You’ve heard that saying before, right? Never say never. I heard it over and over, and now we’re living and doing some of the things we thought we would never ever do.
I was so ready to leave the Lake Chapala area and have a new adventure. And we certainly did with 5 months on the S/V Sea Fern (and trips back to BC interspersed).
But here we were, off the sailboat and back in Chapala.
There’s a mixture of pros and cons, going back. There’s the comfort of what one already knows as familiar. But there’s also a feeling of sliding back into that familiarity. Maybe a feeling of stagnation? Regression? Or regret?
When we arrived at Hotel Perico this time we had a new ‘arrangement’ for us. We’ve had a few different scenarios each time we’ve come to Perico. I think Tom knows we’re flexible and willing to try out something new. But this time it was the most different for us. Parents in one suite, kids in another. Kitchen with us….well, just go check it out…our new living arrangement.
I really quite liked it…but only for the short term. One month its novelty. I think more than that it would be to much disconnect. Not my style.
