Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) 2007-2008
Our first trip was with our youngest 7, from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. We did the Cabot Trail, visited Fortress Louisbourg, saw Peggy’s Cove & the Bluenose. We drove all the way south to Clark’s Harbour & to the end of Digby Neck in the Bay of Fundy, and enjoyed early spring in the Annapolis Valley.
We also did a road trip to Prince Edward Island. Later in 2008 we drove south thru Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and New York to stand in the mist of Niagara Falls then on up to Lake Huron. We meandered up the Thousand Islands Parkway along the St Lawrence back to Cape Breton.
2008-2010 USA back to NS and return to BC
We wintered in Arizona then drove across the US South, along the Blue Ridge Mountains, up to Amish country, then back to Nova Scotia.
In 2010 we moved back to Vancouver Island, BC.
2012 -2014 Mexico & Colorado
We purchased 2 rooftop tents to put on our 15 passenger van and had our first experience driving & camping on Mexico’s Baja for winter 2012.
We spent time in Colorado helping friends build a house where our married daughter Rauchelle and our granddaughter, Marin, came and spent 6 weeks with us.
Winter 2013 we explored a whole lot more of Arizona and then expanded to mainland Mexico.
In 2014 we spent the summer volunteering at Hamilton Hobby Farm back on Vancouver Island, BC. Everette and Danaka also took a trip to Puerto Rico where they participated in an Aquaponics certification program.
