When people think of California its usually picturing the surf on the coast, or the palm trees lining the boulevard. Bustling cities, the steep hills of The Bay area. Funny, but those are the areas that our family seems to want to avoid. They are not our favourite regions of California.
Well, we wouldn’t be avoiding the coast if it weren’t so populated, I suppose. Because we truly do love being on the coast. There’s such positive energy (negative ions) that we get from being in the presence of such things as the ocean waves. That’s why we live on the BC coast. And why Operation Sunshine is taking us to the Baja.
Everette wanted to be able to say that we drove the entire Washington and Oregon coast; we now have that under our belt. You can see highlights here and here. But neither Everette nor I can say that about the California coast; neither of us have done it, nor really care to drive the entire coast, although I’m sure its beautiful. I still recall loving San Diego, San Francisco and Carmel when I was there as a child and/or teen. But for our family I think it’s sufficient just having done the northern California coast, and say ‘Enough’.
